A Tajik Air plane has made an emergency landing at the airport of the Tajik northern city of Khujand.
The Tajik Air flight 645 made an emergency landing at the Khujand airport on March 8, Russia’s TASS news agency cited Flightradar24 as reporting.
The Boeing 737 of the Tajik national air carrier reportedly safely landed at the Khujand airport Tuesday night after an emergency situation was declared on board.
The plane took off from Taraz, Kazakhstan, originally headed to Moscow, but diverted to Khujand due to an “emergency situation” on board, according to Russia’s Tass news agency.
Flight tracking information from Flightradar24 showed the plane circling Khujand Airport multiple times before landing to dump fuel.
Ambulances and a cheering crowd of spectators were standing by to receive the Tajik Air flight 645 after it made an emergency landing. One hundred and forty passengers were on board the plane.
The cause of the accident is not known yet but some witnesses say the plane made the emergency landing following problems to its landing gear.
