In the village of Surkhob, Farkhor district of Khatlon province, a ceremony has been held to hand over new homes to local residents affected by the mudflow flood.
The press service of Khatlon governor’s office says that during a working trip, Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda, Khatlon Governor Dalatali Sayeed and the head of the Justice Ministry Main Department for the Execution of Sentences Mansourjon Umarov handed over keys to new homes to 36 families whose homes were destroyed in the mudflow flood of May 25 this year.
Each house has an area of 110 square meters and includes three rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. A total of 18 hectares of land were allocated for construction.
Additionally, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure objects were restored in the village of Surkhob. A medical point and other essential facilities for village life were also built.
All restoration and construction works were completed in just three months under the personal supervision of the President of Tajikistan.
Earlier, in Sangvor district (Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan), new homes were also handed over to local residents affected by natural disasters.
Construction in this area was carried out at an accelerated pace. Seventeen houses were built, each with four rooms. The necessary infrastructure for both leisure and work was also created.
The homes in Sangvor were also destroyed as a result of mudflows in May of this year.
