QURGHON TEPPA, February 5, Asia-Plus -- A regional prosecutor’s office in the Khatlon province has instituted criminal proceedings against member of the Mouminobod district legislature (Majlis) Sadullo Rahimov on charge of polygamy (Article 170 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code), the deputy Khatlon prosecutor, Saymurod Qodirov, told Asia-Plus on Tuesday.
According to him, Saudllo Rahimov, who is also head of the dehqan (peasant) farm Navbahor, has three wives simultaneously.
We will recall that Khatlon regional prosecutor’s office applied to the Mouminobod district legislature requesting for repealing inviolability of its member Sadullo Rahimov, who is also charged with killing, last May already.
“Sadullo Rahimov is charged with having killed tractor driver Emom Karimov in the village of Kulchashma,” said the deputy prosecutor, “Rahimov shot Karimov to death from sub-machine-gun Kalashnikov on December 15, 1996.”
However, the Mouminobod Majlis that time refused to repeal inviolability of Sadullo Rahimov.
