KHUJAND, April 1, Asia-Plus -- Officers from Tajik anticorruption agency have detained two judges at the Sughd regional court for bribery.
According to the Sughd police directorate, they were caught red-handed on March 27 when they were taking $2,000 from the 73-year-old resident of Khujand Kamoljon Komiljonov for mitigating a sentence passed on his son Komiljon Mukhtorov.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the judges and an investigation is under way.
