KHUJAND, May 23, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Sughd customs service have stopped an attempt of smuggling a large amount of gold wares in the Konibodom district.
The source at the Sughd customs service said that during customs inspection on the crossing Patar on the Tajik-Uzbek border on May 21, gold wares weighing totaling 1.316 kilograms were found hidden in the luggage belonging to Ms. Dilorom Muhammadova from the Rudaki district.
The preliminary investigation has established that Ms. Muhammadova had illegally transported the gold wares from Uzbekistan for selling in Dushanbe, the source said.
