KULOB, January 7, 2009, Asia-Plus -- In 2008, 220 crimes were reported in the city and the district of Kulob, which is 65 crimes fewer than during 2007, the Kulob prosecutor Nasrullo Mahmoudov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the number of serious crimes such as killings and robberies decreased from 44 in 2007 to 32 last year.
In the meantime, the number of thefts still remains high – 104 thefts, including 27 cases of burglary, were registered in the city and the district of Kulob in 2008, the prosecutor said.
Last year, the Kulob prosecutor’s office issued 57 arrest warrants, which is 19 more than in 2007.
