KHUJAND, September 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Chkalovsk prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against local police officer Aydmamad Sherdilov and his partner in crime on drug charges.
According to the Sughd police directorate press service, charges have been brought against them under the provisions of Article 200, Part 3 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors.
“The preliminary investigation has established that Sherdilov found a cache containing more than one kilogram of hashish in August this year while on vacation in GBAO’s Ishkashim district,” said the source, “He brought narcotics in Chkalovsk and sold them to local resident Salohiddin Asoyev, who, for his part, pushed them to conventional buyer.”
Involvement of Sherdilov and Asoyev in this crime has been proved and they have been arrested, the source said.
