QURGHON TEPPA, December 5, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Khatlon regional prosecutor’s office has completed investigation into case of Dushanbe resident Daler Qosimov, who is suspected of having killed female entrepreneur from Khatlon’s Vakhsh district, Guljahon Sohibova.
Varqa Zaynuddinov, a chief aide to the Khatlon prosecutor, told Asia-Plus that Ms. Sohibova was found murdered in her house on October 19 this year. The woman was suffocated.
According to him, Dushanbe resident Daler Qosimov, who visited Sohibova on October 18, was arrested on suspicion of having her.
“Investigation has established that Daler Qosimov, who has four previous convictions, visited Sohibova on October 18,” said the prosecutor, “At 2:00 a.m. he suffocated her and seized more than 6,000 somoni and gold jewelry.”
Criminal proceedings were instituted against Qosimov under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – Article 104 (murder) and Article 249 (robbery). The case has moved to the Khatlon regional court.
