KULOB, December 24, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Kulob prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against Habibullo Odinayev, director of central bazaar in Khutlon’s Hamadoni district also member of the Hamadoni district legislature (Majlis).
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him under the provisions of Article 237, Part 2 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – hooliganism.
Alfattoh Roziqov, the deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob zone, told Asia-Plus today that Odinayev beat local official Mirzosafar Sharipov in his office.
“Upon recommendation of the prosecutor’s office, members of the Hamadoni legislature voted for the repeal of inviolability of Odinayev and we instituted criminal proceedings against him,” the prosecutor said.
In the meantime, the Kulob prosecutor’s office has received 137 applications from local residents this year.
The majority of them concern violation of land and housing codes of the country.
13 local officials have been implicated in wrongdoing, and disciplinary and administrative actions have been imposed upon them.
