DUSHANBE, January 27, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Said Boboazimov, deputy chairman of the Roudaki district, faces corruption charge.
Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Fattoh Saidov told reporters in Dushanbe yesterday that “Boboazimov, who demanded 6,000 U.S. dollars from local resident for allotment of land for housing, was detained by the anticorruption officers recently.”
According to him, criminal proceedings have been instituted against Boboazimov under the provisions of Article 319, Part 4 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – bribe taking.
Ms. Narzigul Vohidova, deputy chairperson of Khatlon’s Jomi district, also faces bribery charge. She is charged with taking bribe from a person wanting to perform the Hajj last year. Ms. Vohidova was detained in October 2009. She reportedly demanded 1,200 U.S. dollars from him in excess of the fixed amount.
