KHUJAND, March 10 2010, Asia-Plus -- A court in Sughd province has sentenced three drug peddlers to long prison terms.
The Chkalovsk court on March 9 ruled that two residents of Bobojonghafurov district – the 36-yar-old Qahramon Ahmadov and the 30-year-old Abduaziz Ergashev – and the 41-year-old Orom Bobokhonov from the city of Chkalovsk be given a jail term of 14 years each. The sentenced followed their conviction on the charge of drug trafficking. They will serve their terms in a high-security penal colony.
The source at the Chkalovsk court told Asia-Plus that the drug peddlers were detained in Khujand on August 14, 2009 and more than nine kilograms of hashish were confiscated from them.
