DUSHANBE, April 27, 2010, Asia-Plus -- In a report released at a press conference in Dushanbe, director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Fattoh Saidov revealed on April 27 that 206 corruption-related crimes, including 33 cases of bribery and 30 cases of abuse of office, have bee detected in the country over the first three months of this year.
“18 such cases have been revealed in the Ministry of Education, 16 cases in the Ministry of Agriculture, 15 cases in the Ministry of Interior, 10 cases in the health sector, 10 cases in the energy sector, 8 cases in prosecutor’s offices, etc,” Saidov said.
He noted that according to findings by the anticorruption agency, corruption has cost Tajikistan at 23 million somoni in January-March 2010.
