KULOB, July 16, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Resident of Kulob has got a jail term of 10 years for an attempt to transport 482 grams of heroin to Russia.
The Kulob city court sentenced Badriddin Aminov to 10 years in prison on July 15. The sentence followed his conviction on charges of drug trafficking. The court ruled that Aminov will serve the term in a high-security penal colony.
The Kulob city court chairman Aslam Kholov, who took in the trial, told Asia-Plus that Aminov had received US$1,000 from F.S., resident of the village of Sharora in Hisor district, for transporting heroin to Moscow. An inspection of passengers on the Kulob-Moscow flight found heroin hidden in a luggage belonging to Aminov.
Materials of the case instituted against F.S, have been sent to the law enforcement authorities in Hisor district, the judge said.
