KHUJAND, August 3, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Resident of Sughd province wanted by Tajik police on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking has been detained in Russia.
According to the Sughd police directorate, the 40 year-old resident of the Kistakuz jamoat in Bobojonghafurov district of Sughd, Abduahad Majidov, was detained by officers from the Tajik Interior Ministry criminal investigation directorate in the Russian city of Chkalovsk on August 2.
Majidov who had been wanted by Tajik police since October 6 2009 is currently being held at the detention facility of the Dushanbe police directorate, the source said.
