DUSHANBE, October 11, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Shuroi Adliya (Council of Justice) does not refuse existence of corruption in the country’s judicial system.
In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the Shuroi Adliya head Zafar Azizov revealed on October 11 that two judges have been arrested on the corruption charges over the first nine months of this year. “They are Marouf Nouriddinov, a judge from the court in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district, and Ashour Ruziyev, a judge from the Qairoqqum city court in Sughd province,” Azizov said, said noting that investigation into their cases is under way.
He noted that it was senseless to conceal cases of corruption in the judicial system. Azizov noted that the Shuroi Adliya and courts had launched the website ( www.shroiadliya.tj ) and hotlines (224-20-34 and 224-09-79) for citizens who were faced with dishonesty of judges.
By government’s order the Shuroi Adliya will analyze in details activities of judicial bodies, he added.
