DUSHANBE, October 25, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Two border guards have got long jail terms for drug trafficking.
The source at the Khatlon regional court says two servicemen of the Panj border unit deployed in Khatlon province -- Mahmadali Abdulloyev and Sadriddin Murodaliyev – were sentenced to 17 and 12 years in prison respectively. The sentence followed their conviction on charges of drug trafficking.
“Investigation has established that Abdulloyev and Murodaliyev purchased 4.5 kilograms of hashish from an Afghan national last spring,” said the source, “They were detained when they were trying to push the hashish to a local resident.”
