DUSHANBE, January 21, 2011, Asia-Plus -- An operation by officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) has led to the seizure of a large amount of narcotics in Dushanbe.
According to the DCA press service, the drug control officers found a hiding place yesterday, while searching a private house on the Academician Nazarshoyev Street.
“24 packages containing some 35 kilograms of raw opium and more than 3.5 kilograms of heroin were extracted from the hide,” the source said, noting that two Tajik nationals were arrested on drug charges.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
