DUSHANBE, June 8, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Customs officers seized some 675 grams of heroin at the Dushanbe airport on June 7, the Customs Service press office reports.
Two drug peddlers were reportedly detained during inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Moscow flight.
Ms. Shahlo Hasanova attempted to travel to Moscow with drugs in her stomach. The peddler had ingested several wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 575 grams.
The inspection of passengers also found some 100 grams of heroin hidden in clothes of Ms. Olmakhon Sattorova, 38.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against both female drug peddlers and an investigation is under way, the source said.
