DUSHANBE, June 16, 2011, Asia-Plus - Prosecutor’s Office of Khatlon District has launched a series of criminal cases under article 237 part 2 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan against 5 people, including two teenagers at the age of 15 and 17.
According to the police, on Thursday, June 16th, Tajik Ministry of Interior distributed an official message about the accident that took place in Kulob on June 14th following the football match between the Dushanbe “Istiklol” and Kulob’s “Ravshan”.
“On June 14 after the football match a group of 100 supporters started to throw stones at police officers. The accident took place on the 1st May street in central Kulob. Young people kept on throwing stones and shouting even after a series of warnings from the police. SWAT used a special smoke-puff charge but the group of young people continued to violate the public order for 30 minutes. They caused damage to private and service vehicles parked close to the stadium. 16 people reported injured and were hospitalized to Kulob hospital. 13 of them were discharged the same day, three of them remained in the hospital,” Tajik Ministry of Interior said in the message.
