Tajik customs officers seized a record consignment of methamphetamine in the Dushanbe airport, Tajik customs service told AP.
According to the source, a foreigner, passenger of the Dushanbe-Almaty flight, was arrested on Sunday.
“Customs officers found several ceramic figurines in his luggage which were filled with white crystals. Expertise showed that the seized substance was methamphetamine. Thus, customs officers managed to seize a total of 67kg of this synthetic drug,” the source said, adding that the price of seized drugs at the black market reaches $6mln.
The arrested drug dealer was planning to deliver drugs to Malaysia through Kazakhstan.
Criminal proceedings were launched, investigation is under way. The police are searching for another person involved in the crime – the suspect is a citizen of Tajikistan.
