DUSHANBE, June 11, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- The 21-year-old Muhammad Tillozoda, the son of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), will stand trial for a fatal auto accident.

Tillozoda’s defense lawyer Buzurgmehr Yorov told Asia-Plus today that he visited his client, who is currently being held at the Vahdat police-run pretrial detention facility, on Sunday.  According to him, the Vahdat city court will consider criminal proceedings instituted against Muhammad Tillozoda.

We will recall that the 21-year-old Muhammad Tillozoda was detained in early May this year.  Tillozoda reportedly hit the schoolboy on May 3 as driving a car in Vahdat.  The 12-year-old Muhsiddin Ortiqov died at hospital next day.

The lawyer says Muhammad Tillozoda is charged with traffic violation (Article 212 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code).

Muhammad Tillozoda is a student at one of universities in Malaysia.
