KHUJAND, September 26, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Five residents of the village of Haidar Usmon in the Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province have been jailed for killing their fellow villager.
The Sughd regional court found five residents of the village of Haidar Usmon guilty of murder of the 27-year-old Abdurasoul Abdurasoulov and sentenced them to prison terms between two and 21 years on September 26.
Daler Usmonov who was convicted on the charge of murder got a jail term of 21 years. He will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
Akmal Abdusamadov, 23, and Manouchehr Gadoboyev, 32, were sentenced to 19 years in prison each and Jaffar Rahmatov got a jail term of 16 years.
They were convicted on the charges of criminal complicity, organizational crime, and aiding. They will also spend their terms in a high-security penal colony.
Azamat Lutfiyev, 19, was jailed for not reporting the crime. He was sentenced to two years in prison. He will serve his term in a minimum-security penal colony.
An official source at the Khatlon regional court said that Daler Tursunov stabbed Abdurasoul Abdurasoulov to death on May 26 this year. “Usmonov, Abdusamadov, Gadoboyev and Rahmatov who were involved in a series of thefts thought that Abdurasoulov is collaborating with police and reporting on them to police,” the source said.
