DUSHANBE, October 20, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- Iranian national has been arrested in Dushanbe on suspicion of embezzlement.

The Interior Ministry’s official website reports Mr. Haghsefat Abdul Mohammad Abbas, director general of the limited liability company Aryan-Cotton, was arrested on suspicion of embezzling some 3 million somoni.

From July to October 7, he reportedly collected 3 million somoni from various enterprises for purchase of cotton but embezzled the collected funds.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mr. Haghsefat Abdul Mohammad Abbas and an investigation is under way.
