DUSHANBE, October 24, 2012, Asia-Plus -- The number of corruption-related crimes has reportedly increased in the northern Sughd province.
“Over the first nine months of this year, 342 corruption related crimes have been reported in the province, which is 92 cases more than in the same period last year, Husein Oqilov, head of the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd, told Asia-plus in an interview.
He noted that according to findings by the anticorruption officers, corruption has cost Sughd at 44.121 million somoni in January-September this year.
The following corruption related crimes have been registered in the area of the over the report period: embezzlement; fraud; misappropriation; bribery; exceeding official powers; commercial bribery, service forgery; smuggling; and getting fee by extortion.
