DUSHANBE, November 23, 2012, -- The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has put Senior Lieutenant Safarali Safarov, an inspector for juvenile affairs at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on the wanted persons list.
“Introducing himself as a representative of one of large gasoline supplying companies and wining people’s confidence, Safarov have collected money from them,” said a source at a SCNS. “The preliminary investigation has established that Safarov embezzled some 3.5 million U.S. dollars.”
Safarov’s whereabouts are still unknown, the source added.
Meanwhile, a report on discharging Safarali Safarov from the Ministry of Interior was posted on the MoI’s official website on November 23. Safarov was reportedly discharged for violation “of the ministry’s disciplinary charter.”
