KHUJAND, February 5, 2013, Asia-Plus -- An officer from the military registration and enlistment department in the northern city of Isfara has been detained for bribery.
According to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province, the chief of the Section 4, Isfara Military Registration and Enlistment Department was caught red-handed while he was taking 600 USD form local resident for the fake military service certificate.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt recruitment officer under the provisions of Article 247 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale fraud.
According to statistical data from the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province, 128 fraud cases were registered in the province last year, 20 cases more than in 2011.
