DUSHANBE, February 7, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajik former Prime Minister Abdumalik Abdullojonov, who was detained at Kiev’s Borispol Airport on February 5 after arriving from the United States, has not applied for refugee status in Ukraine, Russian news agency, Interfax, quoted Ukraine’s migration service agency as saying.
“There have been no any official applications,” Viktor Sheybut, the first deputy head of Ukraine’s migration service, announced in Kiev on February 6.
Now the question of extradition of Abdullojonov to Tajikistan is being considered
The Prosecutor-General’s Office of Tajikistan has not confirmed nor denied this information.
