KHUJAND, June 13, 2013, Asia-Plus -- An officer from the military registration and enlistment office in the Bobojonghafurov district, Sughd province has been detained for bribe-taking.
According to the anticorruption agency’s office for Sughd province, the military recruitment officer demanded 1,400 USD from resident of the Ovchi Qalacha village for exempting him from military service. He was caught red-handed while taking bribe.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt military recruitment officer under the provisions of Article 247 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.
