DUSHANBE, July 31, 2013, Asia-Plus – Two residents of Dushanbe have been arrested on suspicion of fraud.
According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center, an operation by the DCA mobile unit led to the arrest of the 23-year-old resident of Dushanbe. A wrap of drug narcotic that was confiscated from him tested positive to heroin weighing 0.2598 grams.
As a result of additional operation, his partner in crime – the second-year student from the Institute of Physical Training – has been arrested. A package of white substance that was confiscated from him tested positive to…dietary salt weighing 10 kilograms.
The preliminary investigation has established that they were trying to sell 10 kilograms of dietary salt for 50,000 U.S. dollars passing it for heroin.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.
