KHUJAND, October 8, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Vice-Chancellor o the Khujand Institute of Commerce and Economics has been detained for bribery.
According to the anticorruption agency’s office for the Sughd province, the vice-chancellor was caught red-handed while taking bribe from local young women.
He has reportedly promised to help her enter the Faculty of Economics and asked 2,500 U.S. dollars for that.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt vice-chancellor under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.
