KHUJAND, October 17, 2013, Asia-Plus -- 3,315 crimes have been reported in Sughd province over the first nine months of this year, which is 11.9 percent (353 cases) fewer than in the same period last year, according to the Statistics Agency’s office in Sughd.
The number of serious crimes has increased by 36 cases or 6.0 percent, which was caused by the increase in the number of serious crimes in the Shahriston district – by 4 cases, in the Khuhistoni Mastchoh district – by 4 cases, in the Zafarobod district – by 3 cases, in the Asht district – by 85.7 percent, and in the city of Istiqlol – by 50 percent.
Over the same nine-month period, there were 613 cases of theft reported, which was 7.4 percent fewer than in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the number of thefts from apartments has decreased by 22.2 percent.
