KHUJAND, October 18, 2013, Asia-Plus -- According to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province, corruption has cost northern Tajikistan at more than 21.383 million somoni in January-September this year.
“Inspections conducted by our officers over the report period have revealed 21,383,137 somoni worth of damage,” an official source at the anticorruption agency’s office for Sughd said, noting that 15.762 million somoni of the damage has been reimbursed.
353 corruption-related and economic crimes have been reported in the province over the same nine-month period, which is 211 cases more than in the same period last year.
