QURGHON TEPPA, November 29, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The military court of the Khatlon garrison has sentenced recruitment officer from Kulob, Mahmoud Pirov, to two years in jail for an attempt to bribe investigator from the Kulob military prosecutor’s office.
Ismoilbek Mirmakhsoumov, a judge at the military court of the Khatlon garrison, says Pirov asked the prosecutor to drop criminal proceedings instituted against the conscript E. Sherov and he offered 500 U.S. dollars in bribe for this.
“Pirov was caught red-handed,” said Mirmakhsoumov. “Pirov and two residents of the Dahana jamoat – Mouso Sherov and Abdurahmon Sherov – were found guilty of giving bribe and were sentenced to two years in prison each.”
