DUSHANBE, December 6, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbonk, is taking measures to promote the fight against corruption in the country.

According to Amonatbonk’s press center, the bank has offered the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption joint publication of brochures that will contain information about the fight against corruption.

This issue was reportedly discussed at a recent meeting of Amonatbonk deputy head, Sirojiddin Ikromov, with senior representatives of the anticorruption agency.

The press centers of Amonatbonk and the anticorruption agency are expected to jointly work on publishing the mentioned brochures, the source said.

Amonatbonk is the only state-owned bank.  It is one of the oldest in Tajikistan (established in 1925) and one of the largest based upon various criteria - including the number of branches and the number of served clients.  The institution is unique in its orientation towards implementing social, pension and other state programs.  Amonatbonk has 5 regional centers, more than 70 branches and nearly 500 agencies.  This gives the institution a presence in the most remote mountainous parts of the country.
