DUSHANBE February 7, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Prosecutor-general’s offices of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are jointly investigating a shooting incident that took place along the Tajik-Kyrgyz border on January 11, Tajik chief prosecutor Sherkhon Salimzoda told journalists in Dushanbe on February 7.
“Straight after the exchange of gunfire, the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Tajikistan has drafted a resolution on setting up a joint commission for investigation into the incident,” said Salimzoda, “Kyrgyz Prosecutor-General, Ms. Aida Salyanova, has supported our initiative and a joint commission is currently working in the site of the incident.”
According to him, the commission is co-chaired by prosecutor of the Sughd military garrison and deputy military prosecutor of Kyrgyzstan.
