DUSHANBE, February 27, 2014, Asia-Plus – Foziljon Azizulloyev, an investigator at the Dushanbe military prosecutor’s office, has been arrested on suspicion of taking bribe, the anticorruption press center reports.
Azizulloyev reportedly instituted criminal proceedings against Jamoliddin Rahmonov, a serviceman of one of units of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Interior deployed in Dushanbe, in early February.
During the preliminary investigation, Azizulloyev summoned serviceman Abduqodir Hotamov for questioning and threatened that he would institute criminal proceedings against him as well.
After that he met with Hotamov’s farther and demanded 2,500 USD from him for not instituting criminal proceedings against this son.
Azizulloyev was reportedly caught red-handed while taking bribe from the serviceman’s farther.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt investigator and an investigation is under way, the source said.
