KHUJAND, March 4, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Director of the cotton-ginning factory named after A. Samatov in the Jabborrasoulov district (Sughd province), I.B., is suspected of embezzling 4 million somoni, according to the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province.
“I.B., who had worked as director of the cotton-ginning factory name after A. Samatov from May 2012 to January 2014, acting in collusion with the factory chief accountant I.M. received a 4 million somoni loan from Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank)’s branch in Sughd under false documentation,” an official source at the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd said.
According to him, damage caused by I.B. and I.M. to Amonatbonk’s branch in Sughd has been estimated at 5,053,333,000 somoni.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against I.B. under the provisions of Article 246 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale embezzlement; an investigation is under way.
