KHUJAND, June 16, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The 21-year-old resident of the northern city of Konibodom, Rasoul Ergashev, has got a long jail term for attempting to rape the 8-year-old girl.

The Sughd regional court sentenced him to twelve years in prison on June 16.  The sentence followed his conviction on charges of preparation for crime and raping a girl who has not yet reached the age of 14.

Ergashev will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
