DUSHANBE, June 26, 2014, Asia-Plus – An operation by officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Sughd has reportedly led to the seizure of a large amount of hashish and heroin in Khujand the capital of the Sughd province.
According to the DCA press center, the 37-year-old resident of Khujand was arrested on June 24 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking and a wrap of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish was confiscated from him.
While searching his home, the drug control officers found several packages of narcotic drugs that tested positive to hashish and heroin totally weighing some three kilograms.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler and an investigation is under way, the source said.
