DUSHANBE, December 8, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Rahim Sharifzoda, Chairman of the Dushanbe Economic Court, faces charge of bribe taking.
The press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption reports that Sharifzoda in August this year took 7,000 U.S. dollars from F. Sohibnazarov for deciding the issue in his favor.
“Mr. Sharifzoda took 4,000 U.S. dollars from Mr. Sohibnazarov personally and the remaining 3,000 U.S. dollars he took through the court employees H. Habibov and A. Nusratullozoda,” the source said.
The anticorruption agency has reportedly instituted criminal proceedings against Rahim Sharifzoda under the provisions of Article 319 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – bribe taking; an investigation is under way.
