DUSHANBE, April 22, 2015, Asia-Plus – A woman from the Roudaki district has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in buying and selling of minors.
The Interior Ministry’s website reports the 47-year-old woman from the Roudaki district was arrested on suspicion of selling a newborn baby.
The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that she bought a newborn baby from 24-year-old woman from the Roudaki district for 1,500 somoni. She was arrested on April 18 while reselling the baby to the 43-year-old man from the Hisor district for 5,200 somoni.
The man said he had bought the baby for the 23-year-old woman, who is also resident of the Hisor district.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way, the website says.
