DUSHANBE, May 5, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Six soldiers of military unit 6592 of the Internal Troops of the Interior Ministry have been jailed for hazing incident.
A court of the Dushanbe military garrison sentenced six servicemen of military unit 6592 deployed in Tursunzoda to between 2 and 2 ½ years in prison on May 5.
The sentence followed their conviction on the charge of hazing.
Three of them – Dovar Abdulkhatov, Daler Rahmonov and Alibek Imomnazarov – were sentenced to 2½ year in jail each, while Furqat Avezov, Shukurjon Akobirov and Sherali Ghafouov were sentenced to 2 years in prison each.
A prosecutor in the trial of the servicemen asked the court to sentence them to a five-year prison term each.
Private Akbarkhouja Abdurahmonov said today that six soldiers beat him up breaking his jaw on November 5, 2014 following his conflict with Private Dovar Abdulkhatov.
Meanwhile, the soldiers said that only Dovar Abdulkhatov had punched him and they had just been witnesses to the incident.
