DUSHANBE, March 9, 2016, Asia-Plus – A judge at the Dushanbe city court has been detained for bribery.

According the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, Khalil Kholiqzoda has been caught red-handed on March 8 while taking 1,000 U.S. dollars from Dushanbe resident B.

The judge has reportedly demanded 2,000 U.S. dollars from B. for deciding the dwelling dispute in favor of him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the corrupt judge and an investigation is under way.
