Russia’s RIA Novsti news agency reports four Tajik nationals have been jailed in Russia for drug trafficking.
A court in the Russian city of Belgorod sentenced Ziyomuhammad Niyozov, Abubakr Rahimov, Sherali Uroqov, and Odiljon Jourayev to different jail terms on October 10.
Niyozov got a jail term of five years, while Rahimov, Uroqov and Jourayev were sentenced to three years in prison each.
The sentence followed their conviction on charges of participation in a criminal group, large-scale drug trafficking and large-scale drug trafficking attempt.
They were reportedly engaged in drug trafficking in Belgorod, Voronezh and Kursk oblasts from February 2014 to March 2016.
1.5 kilograms of heroin were reportedly confiscated from them during the arrest.
They will serve their terms in a minimum-security penal colony, according to the Belgorod regional prosecutor’s office.
