DUSHANBE, February 24, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Rustamjon Soliyev, presented his credentials to King Albert II of Belgium on February 23, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
In the course of the talks, the sides considered issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Belgium in various fields. The also touched upon regional issues being of mutual interest.
His Majesty King Albert II, in particular, highly appraised a role of Tajikistan in providing support for International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. The King also pointed out the significance of use of Tajikistan’s hydropower capacities for reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and development of the region, the source said.
