DUSHANBE, June 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Ambassador to Turkey, Farrukh Sharifov, yesterday met with Governor of Istanbul, Huseyin Avni Mutlu, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
The sides reportedly discussed issues related to economic and scientific cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey.
Ambassador Sharifov introduced Tajik Consul General Yatimsho Musofirov, noting that for the purpose of expanding mutually beneficial regional cooperation Tajikistan had opened the General Consulate in Istanbul.
Istanbul governor was reportedly interested in Tajikistan’s investment projects and expressed readiness in contributing to further expansion of mutually cooperation between the two countries in sectors like energy, textile industry and agriculture as well as launch of joint ventures, organization of joint business forums and business trips of the Istanbul business leaders to Dushanbe, the source said.
