DUSHANBE, June 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Saturday June 18, Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Zubaydllo Zubaydov met in Islamabad with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Melik, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
Cooperation between the law enforcement authorities of the two countries was reportedly a major topic of the meeting.
Mr. Rehman Melik reportedly noted that relations between the two nations were developing dynamically in all spheres. He stressed that a meeting of the leaders of the two countries that took place in Astana, Kazakhstan last week on sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit would give a new impulse to further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
“Pakistani interior minister noted that Pakistan attaches significance to cooperation with Tajikistan in the fields of energy and providing security,” the source said.
