DUSHANBE, June 24, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A working visit of Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov to Tajikistan is postponed for the later period, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) press office reports.
Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan, says Serdyukov will probably arrive in Dushanbe next week. The reasons for the postponement are not specified
We will recall that Russian defense minister was expected to arrive in Dushanbe for a two-day working visit on June 24.
During the visit, Serdyukov is scheduled to meet with his Tajik counterpart Sherali Khairulloyev, President Emomali Rahmon and the command of Russian military base deployed in Tajikistan.
The sides are expected to discuss issues related to military and technical cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, the Defense Ministry spokesman noted.
