DUSHANBE, October 12, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday October 11, Emir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi who was in Kuwait to attend the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).
The Tajik MFA information department reports His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah expressed gratitude to the Tajik side for an active participation in the meeting and wished success in holding of the next ACD Ministerial Meeting that is scheduled to take place in Dushanbe in 2012.
Tajik minister, for his part, handed over to the Emir of Kuwait an invitation on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon to pay an official visit to Tajikistan at any convenient time.
In the course of the talks, the sides reportedly exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait in different fields. They also discussed a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interest.
On Tuesday, Zarifi also met with Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss bilateral cooperation between their countries.
Tajik foreign minister underlined the importance of preparation and singing of bilateral documents that would lay legal foundation of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait. He also stressed the possibility of opening of Tajik diplomatic mission in Kuwait and Kuwaiti diplomatic mission in Tajikistan. Zarifi also invited his Kuwaiti counterpart to visit Tajikistan, the source added.
