DUSHANBE, April 6, 2012, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev today exchanged messages of congratulations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the established of diplomatic relations between their countries, Tajik president’s official website reports.
A message by President Rahmon, in particular, notes that Tajikistan values its friendship and multi-aspect cooperation with the Russian Federation, which occupies a special place in the priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy.
Relations between Tajikistan and Russia have developed dynamically over the past two decades and today they cover practically all spheres of life, Tajik leader noted.
For his part, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev noted in his message that the countries have managed to bring their bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level over the past years due to joint efforts.
“Russia and Tajikistan are continuing to strengthen political dialogue and trade and economic ties and coordinate efforts to address new challenges and threats,” Medvedev said.
